We are pleased to announce the launch of our brand new PS10 Posi-Strut web, the PS10+.
This new, stiffer and stronger web is the result of a rigorous testing programme and significant investment from MiTek. The new web will be a direct replacement for MiTek’s existing PS10 Posi-Strut web, our most popular Posi-Strut size used in 253mm deep Posi-Joists.
The main change with the PS10+ Strut is the introduction of an extra row of nails to the integral nailplate, which improves the anchorage capacity and reduces deflection in the joists due to slip in the anchorage areas. This also helps reduce the impact of the more onerous National Annex vibration rules being introduced this year.
The new PS10+ web is available in the PAMIR software (alongside the existing PS10) from v8.1, and there are intelligent tools in the software to help convert existing designs to the new PS10+ web.
Initial feedback from early adopters has been extremely positive, with the PS10+ web resulting in fewer double webs, increased spans, and a reduction in internal blocking requirements. The price of the new PS10+ web will be the same as the current PS10, meaning the overall result will be more competitive joist designs for MiTek fabricators.
We will be continuing to supply the PS10 web throughout 2020 to allow existing jobs to be manufactured without needing to be converted and to allow for a smooth transition to the PS10+ web.
