When you’re used to working a certain way, it’s easy to get comfortable. Why change something that already works?

But what if the new solution is easier? What if it’s more efficient, and gives you more opportunities?

We’ve been working with David Tudor-Lewis at SticX for just over a year. After being in the industry for 13 years, David, JoistZ general manager, has worked with a number of different industry products, including Gang-Nail. When he decided to review his company’s processes last year, he decided to move forward with MiTek.  David saw a real opportunity to expand the Joist department at SticX, to supply the traditional housing market – JoistZ was set up to take hold of that prospect.

Prior to working with MiTek, David had had no exposure to Posi-Joist. Fast forward to today, and now he’s an advocate of all things Posi-Joist.

“I’d say it’s a fantastic product. A lot of what I focus on is encouraging people to move to this from older methods. 90% of what we do is pushing Posi-Joist products, because of its superior qualities.”

So far, David has found that clients working on unique properties, self-builders and small-builders have been incredibly positive about the switch-over to Posi-Joist, with larger-scale building companies showing a marked interest.

“They switch over and never talk about going back to any other method. The proof is there because we have managed to get larger house builders on board with the Posi products, alongside our existing base of smaller house builders, sites and individuals”.

JoistZ; based in Wallasey is still an emerging company who are now going into their fourth year. Whilst still considering themselves small, they are growing steadily – with expectations for significant growth in both the Posi-Joist and flooring market – with forecasted yearly growth.

Tim Garner from MiTek commented: “Posi-Joist has become the go-to product in the sector. People try Posi-Joist and don’t go back. This is a phrase we repeatedly hear from the industry. We’ve got a very loyal customer base and we’re incredibly proud to have David and his team onboard with MiTek and our approach to Design – Make – Build.

“Posi-Joist is such a versatile product, with many great qualities, from its wide span to lightweight nature and open voids which provide the perfect space for the routeing of services in a building.

He added: “With new regulations driving changes in mind set, we’ve seeing greater adoption of Posi-Joist especially in the housing sector. And as the market for offsite continues to grow we’re working closely with industry partners – housebuilders and timber manufacturers alike, on some ground-breaking projects, such as Energy House.”

We’re excited to see what future projects come forward from JoistZ Ltd, and where Posi-Joist might be used. David recently used Posi-Joist in a unique ‘Hobbit House’ build – which you can read more about here.
